(12/10/2020). Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C., USA through Education and Cultural Attaché, held a live Indonesian Language Competition for the Essay Category ( Lomba Bahasa Indonesia Kategori Karya Tulis) 2020 on 12/10/2020. This event was held in collaboration with the Education and Culture Attaché in Wasington D.C. and the Consortium for the Teaching of Indonesian (COTI). This great event was officially opened by Popy Rufaidah, the Attache for Education and Culture at the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C.
Andrea Decker, who was a participant in the Virtual Showcase Javanese Langgam (menyinden) Singing Class 2020 held by the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C, was lined up as the MC. She showed her skills in singing Indonesian music during this competition by presenting Javanese song ( Langgam Jawa) entitled Ngidam Sari and several other Indonesian songs.
The final competition on this category was originally attended by eight finalists, but one finalist was not present. They were:

The finalists presented their papers on different topics regarding the women’s movement in Indonesia, the City of Connecticut infrastructure, history, diversity of languages in Indonesia, patriotism, democratic practices in Indonesia, and strategies to win against the pandemic for ultramicro entrepreneurs.
